whom和who都可用作疑问代词，who是主格，whom是宾格。另外whom和who同为定语从句的关系代词，如果定语从句的先行词是指人，我们用who或者whom作连接词，区别是who作从句的主语或宾语（通常在口语中），whom只能作从句的宾语。
（1）Who saw the thief？
谁看见了那个小偷？
（2）Whom are you trying to fool？
你想愚弄谁啊？
Who are you trying to fool？（在日常口语中，常用who代替whom作宾语。）
你想愚弄谁啊？
（4）who不能直接用在介词后，whom可以。例如：
To whom is she writing?她在给谁写信？
Is he the man who wants to see you？
他就是想见你的人吗？（who在从句中作主语）
He is the man whom I saw yesterday.
他就是我昨天见的那个人。（whom在从句中作宾语）
